Your most direct line to calm. Conscious connected breath, the fastest lever you have on your own nervous system.
Of everything we offer, breathwork is the most direct lever you have on your own nervous system. Conscious connected breath can shift your state in minutes — not by talking about what happened, but by moving through it in the body.
At The Garden, breathwork is facilitated by Raissa Mendes, a certified trauma informed breathwork facilitator trained through Breath of Gold, an internationally recognized breathwork certification program. Every session is held with the understanding that the body carries its history, and that healing happens best in a space that is truly safe.
A 2018 systematic review published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience found that conscious breathing reliably activates the parasympathetic nervous system, lowers cortisol, and raises heart rate variability, a key marker of nervous system resilience (Zaccaro et al., 2018).

Breathwork is for anyone who wants to develop a deeper relationship with their body and emotions. It is particularly powerful for people dealing with anxiety, stress, suppressed emotions, or patterns of overwork. If you feel disconnected from your body or your feelings, breathwork can help you come home.

Sessions begin with a check-in and intention setting. You will be guided through specific breathing patterns while lying down or seated. You may experience tingling, waves of emotion, temperature changes, or profound stillness. Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes.
If you have a history of panic attacks, cardiovascular issues, or are pregnant, please let us know beforehand so we can adapt the practice for you.
